A charity shop near Ipswich is celebrating 25 years and has thanked the community for the support shown to them for two and a half decades.

2nd Stop Shop Kesgrave Spark has been open since 1999 for the community to bring their unwanted or no longer needed items to the shop to be found a new home.

The shop, situated in the parade behind Tesco in Ropes Drive in Kesgrave, has had a number of workers and volunteers over the years and the shop has thanked those that have contributed to the shop.

The donations from the community and the community that has bought the items have also been thanked.

The shop is the main source of funding for SPARK (Sports Amenities and Recreation in Kesgrave).

Spark has supported all four local schools with both small and large infrastructure projects that benefit all Kesgrave pupils and teachers.

SPARK has also supported churches in the area, the Kesgrave Community Centre, playgroups, football and netball teams, Kesgrave Cricket Club, running clubs, the bowls and short mat clubs and more.

The charity has also helped Kesgrave Library buy new equipment and has worked in partnership with the town council to support the Kesgrave Fun Day.

More than £2million has been raised by the shop over the past 25 years.

The shop is hoping to remain a part of the community for quarter of a century.
