Floral tributes have been left at the scene of a fatal stabbing in memory of a 26-year-old woman.
Emergency services were called to Burrell Road, close to Ipswich railway station to reports of a stabbing at about 7.10pm on Tuesday.
On arrival, they found a woman with serious injuries.
The woman died shortly after in hospital after being fatally stabbed.
Now a number of floral tributes have been left at the scene as a murder investigation continues.
Police cordons were in place throughout Wednesday including near Willoughby Road and a road closure in Burrell Road.
The road remains closed this morning as police continue to investigate the incident.
The Church of Saint Mary Stoke in Ipswich is inviting people to attend a service today where they will be able to light a candle in memory of the 26-year-old woman.
Officers arrested a 27-year-old man from Ipswich on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.
He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.
Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact Suffolk police, quoting CAD 330 of August 6.
