An Ipswich church has opened its doors for people to offer their condolences after a woman died in a suspected murder.
Emergency services were called to Burrell Road, near Ipswich railway station, on Tuesday evening where a 26-year-old woman was pronounced dead after being stabbed.
Police have confirmed that a 27-year-old has been arrested in connection with the murder investigation.
The Church of Saint Mary Stoke in Ipswich invited those who were grieving into the church to light a candle or have a moment to themselves.
Reverend Kay Palmer, associate priest at the church, said on Wednesday afternoon: "The people at Saint Mary Stoke offer their condolences to all affected by the sad events at Burrell Road last evening.
"We were delighted to welcome people into church this morning and offer the opportunity to light candles and for quiet reflection.
"The church will be open later today, Wednesday between 6 and 7pm and tomorrow, Thursday, between 10am and 12 noon.
"If you have any information please do speak to the police."
