An Ipswich park will explode with colour this autumn as it is set to host a new running event.

The Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity colour run event will be taking place at Christchurch Park on Saturday, September 28, at 10am.

Participants will be able to choose from a 1k or 5k route, making the event accessible to runners, walkers and joggers of all ages and abilities.

They will also be given a complimentary white t-shirt, to be worn during the race, and a medal to celebrate after they have finished.

The event will use in environmentally-friendly coloured powder which will be thrown at runners every kilometre mark to create a rainbow of vibrant colours.

The event is being held in support of the Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity who help to support Suffolk and Essex patients, NHS Staff and local communities.

Jo Rawlings, ESNEFT’s wellbeing administrator said: "We're really looking forward to taking part in the colour run as a team.

"It's so important that staff at ESNEFT have access to facilities which support their wellbeing. As a team we see first-hand the difference this makes so we're hoping to fundraise as much as possible to improve resources for our colleagues."
