Get ready to cut loose, as blockbuster film Footloose swings into Ipswich this autumn.
From Thursday, October 3 until Thursday, October 24, Footloose appears at The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich as a musical.
The 1984 film became a cult classic and won Academy Awards for best original song and best soundtrack.
The film originally starring Kevin Bacon, following Ren as he moves from Chicago to a small farming town with his mother and tries to adjust to a new life - with a strict rule of no dancing.
Director and chief executive/artistic director of The New Wolsey Theatre Douglas Rintoul said: "Footloose is etched in our memories for its Oscar and Tony-nominated score but it also unfolds as a poignant journey delving into themes of grief, cultural censorship, and youth rebellion.
"This new collaboration represents a thrilling opportunity to reawaken the essence of this classic.
"In this way, this 40-year-old 80s classic will resonate with the challenges and joys of our contemporary world.”
Audiences and fans of the rock 'n' roll pantomime may recognise the faces of Myles Miller, Elizabeth Rowe and Luke Thornton who will be returning and will have fresh cast members to meet.
The show hopes to entice audiences with the "rockin’ rhythm" of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top Forty score but elevated with dynamic new songs.
Tickets and more information can be found on the theatre's website.
