The victim had left her door unlocked and the trio of burglars rushed in after she went to bed.

They bolted once a neighbour came to the house calling out to the victim and “incredibly carelessly” left behind a “burglary kit” of tape and latex gloves.

Only £20 was taken during the burglary.

Forty-five-year-old Okat-Uma, of New North Road in Ilford, was linked to the scene from forensic evidence on the bag while 48-year-old Seymour, of New Wanstead in London, pleaded guilty after he was arrested based on an examination of Okat-Uma’s phone.

Forty-six-year-old Cosgrove, of Lodge Close in Chigwell, previously denied conspiracy to burgle but was found guilty based on cell site analysis of his phone.

Judge Richard Kelly sentenced Okat-Uma to four years and four months, Seymour to four years and four months and Cosgrove to five years and two months.
