The holder of a "lucrative" drug line who was a passenger in a stolen car stopped by police in Ipswich has been jailed for eight years.
Police found a mobile phone between 32-year-old Ugur Unek’s legs which was used to sell drugs to customers of the “Baz” drug line over a period of nine months, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
A claw hammer was found under the passenger seat where Unek had been sitting in the car, which was stopped by police in Wells Place Ipswich in March.
Officers also found a black balaclava and a screwdriver in the vehicle as well as £725 cash and a passkey to a room at a Travelodge in Duke Street, Ipswich.
When they searched the hotel room they found a black rucksack containing £1,700 and a pair of black gloves.
The court heard that the car, which was worth £14,000, had false number plates and was found to have been stolen in London two months earlier.
Unek of Fouracres, Enfield, had denied being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin, possession of a screwdriver and a claw hammer in Wells Close, Ipswich, handling a stolen car, using false car number plates and possessing £2,500 criminal property but was unanimously convicted by a jury after a five day trial.
Sentencing Unek, who chose not to give evidence during the trial, Judge Richard Kelly said he had run a lucrative business which he had complete control over.
