The trial of a 40-year-old Ipswich man accused of assaulting a police officer has got underway.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday (August 1) was Lenny Duberry of Heather Avenue, Ipswich.
He has denied assaulting an emergency worker on March 2 2022.
Duberry has chosen to represent himself during the trial which is expected to finish on Monday.
Judge Richard Kelly told the jury that the issue in the case was self defence.
Prosecution counsel, Simon Gladwell, is expected to open the case to the jury on Tuesday.
