A coffee shop at the Ipswich Borough Council office building has been put up for sale as the owner believes it is the "ideal time".

Cool Beanz Coffee House was set up in 2013 by Ipswich businessman Glenn Williamson who took over a unit in Grafton House to create his stylish new café.

However, the business has now announced that it is looking for a new owner for the price of £84,995.

This does not mean that the café is certain to close as a new owner of the venue could decide its fate.

Mr Williamson said: "I have taken the hard decision to place Cool Beanz up for sale as I need to focus on my other businesses, with it doing so well with all the extra trade from the football club and new buildings in that area, it is an ideal time for a new owner to take it forward."

The unit used to be a council office meeting room before Mr Williamson had taken over it.

The café has since seen many redevelopments - including a transformation with the help of Restart Grant funding from Ipswich Borough Council.

The grant helped the venue make a mural designed by artist John Livingstone dedicated to the origin of the Kenyan coffee that the café uses.

The site is now used by various people including workers at Ipswich Borough Council, Suffolk County Council - which is based over the road at Endeavour House-  and visitors to Ipswich Town games because of this proximity to the Portman Road stadium.

Cool Beanz serves jacket potatoes, paninis, sandwiches, wraps, tea and coffee and also carries out external catering for the council offices.
