A man from Felixstowe has been ordered to pay a total of £500 after smashing a window and damaging a police sergeant’s trousers.
Brandon Moreton, of Barton Road in the east Suffolk resort, admitted two offences of criminal damage to property under £5,000 when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
The 27-year-old smashed a window in January this year at Great Eastern Court in Walton-on-the-Naze, on the north Essex coast, according to a court listing.
On the same day Moreton also damaged the trousers of a detective sergeant, also in Walton-on-the-Naze, which were worth £50.
Both of these offences were criminal damage and it is said he intended to damage or destroy the property or was simply reckless as to whether that property would be destroyed or damaged.
For breaking the window Moreton must pay £300 in compensation and for the trousers he was ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
His guilty pleas were taken into consideration at sentencing.
