A superstore in Ipswich has unveiled eight new ultra-rapid EV charging points.
Sainsbury's Warren Heath store on Felixstowe Road launched brand-new hubs that charge vehicles at over 150kW an hour.
The new hub, launched on Wednesday June 3, aims to give a major boost to EV charging options in the area while feeding traffic onto the A14.
Additionally, customers will be able to collect Nectar points while they charge and the service will be open to all drivers not just those shopping in-store.
The new hubs are part of a wider scheme by the superstore to introduce charging points at locations across the UK.
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s director of property, procurement and EV ventures, said: “We know that demand for speedy, reliable and sustainable EV charging facilities in the UK continues to grow – that’s why Sainsbury’s is rolling out Smart Charge, our new best-in-class ultra-rapid charging service, at supermarkets up and down the country.
“We hope EV drivers will enjoy the added convenience and choice our new Warren Heath hub provides, giving them confidence that they can top up or do a full charge at our second Suffolk location."
