A major Ipswich road will be closed this weekend to allow the movement of abnormal loads.
Wherstead Road, which provides access to the A14 from south Ipswich, will be closed intermittently on Saturday and Sunday.
It comes as Suffolk Highways confirmed earlier this month that the busy road will be closed for four consecutive weekends while they help with the transport of abnormal loads.
The road will be closed intermittently on Saturdays and Sundays until Sunday, July 14.
A spokesperson said traffic management will take place from the early hours of the Saturday mornings through to about 6pm on the Sunday evenings.
Access to The Strand will be maintained via a short diversion on the A14 and A137.
Meanwhile, access for residents and business owners in Wherstead Road will be maintained via Hawes Street.
