A woman from Ipswich has been ordered to pay out more than £500 after failing to buy a train ticket.
Karima Alizada, of Shakespeare Road, was asked by an inspector to show her ticket whilst on a train bound for Manningtree from Liverpool Street in London on November 7 last year.
Alizada, 39, failed to show the inspector a valid ticket.
Her case was heard before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court in Ilford in London in April.
Alizada was fined £220 for this offence.
She was also ordered to pay court costs of £175, a surcharge of £88 which goes towards victim services, and compensation of £36.40.
This brings the total Alizada will have to pay to £519.40.
The case was dealt with by a single justice procedure, which deals with more minor cases not brought before a crown court.
