Disruption is expected as transformers are set to be moved through Ipswich.
Suffolk Highways has warned that four abnormal loads are set to be moved over consecutive weekends, starting from this weekend.
The authority is helping to move transformers, which weigh almost 500,000kg, to the East Anglia THREE converter station near Bramford, which is just outside of Ipswich.
During the works, a temporary overbridge will be created over the existing bridge on the A137 near Wherstead Road heading south out of Ipswich.
A spokesman for Scottish Power Renewables said: "Traffic management will be installed on Saturday mornings to enable the overbridge installation and removed on Sunday afternoons, following the delivery of the transformer."
According to Suffolk police, it will travel in the opposite direction to normal, with traffic managed through a rolling road block.
The escort is expected to start at 8am on Sunday, Suffolk police said.
