A foot clinic receiving a vast number of GP recommendations for its services has opened a second clinic in Kesgrave.

1st for Feet expanded opened a second podiatry and chiropody clinic in Kesgrave and take on an array of patients including those with foot conditions caused by diabetes.

Their manager Fiona Vamvakidis said that many GPs across Ipswich have been referring their patients to the clinic as waiting times for feet-based services rise in Suffolk.

At the moment, there Ipswich Hospital runs Suffolk Podiatry, on Walker Close, which can have wait times of up to 12 weeks.

However, 1st for Feet wants to cut down on this timing and help those who need their services.

"We think it is important that we help those who need surgeries or check-ups on their feet and not have to wait for long," said their manager.

"So with increasing pressure on the NHS, we opened our second clinic a year ago to help on that front."

The clinic in Kesgrave is located on Mead Drive, and its first location was at Museum Street in Ipswich, which has been open for 12 years.

"We could not have done this much without the help of the community behind us," Mrs Vamvakidis.

The Kesgrave branch also offers a treatment known as the Swift Microwave Therapy for verrucas to help patients dealing with the condition, a service offered in few clinics.
