An Ipswich theatre is looking to shine a light on those that make a difference in their community by offering free tickets to a hit musical.
Broadway and West End hit Come From Away arrives at the Ipswich Regent next month and the theatre is asking the public to nominate their heroes.
The award winning show shares the real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community that invested these 'come from aways' into their lives.
From the nominees, two people, along with their guest of their choice, will receive a free night at the theatre and treated to tickets for opening night at the show which starts on Tuesday, July 2.
Mark Whiting, head of vibrant town services at Ipswich Borough Council, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing Come From Away to our audiences as part of the show’s first tour since it took the stage by storm in the West End.
"The show is a fantastic celebration of local heroes who helped the 7,000 air passengers grounded in Newfoundland and welcomed them into their lives.
"To celebrate the show’s arrival at the Ipswich Regent Theatre, we want to shine a light on our own local heroes and give something back to those who give so much to others, offering them a night of entertainment, joy, and well-deserved recognition.”
Come From Away tells the incredible true story of how a small town in Newfoundland, Canada opened their hearts and homes to passengers stranded in the aftermath of 9/11.
Those wishing to nominate have until midnight on Sunday (June 23) to make an application for a neighbour who always lends a hand, a selfless volunteer or wishing to recognise someone who makes a difference in their community.
A nomination form can be filled out online.
Come From Away will run at the Ipswich Regent from Tuesday, July 2, until Saturday, July 6.
