A music festival has come to a close in Ipswich after two days of dancing, singing and smiles.
Brighten the Corners Festival 2024 ended on Saturday evening after an entertainment-filled weekend showcasing musical artists from around the country.
I was able to experience the festival across Friday and Saturday, listening to some of the artists who performed as well as soaking up the atmosphere in each of the five venues that hosted music.
Despite the weather, which seemed to change every 15 minutes, lots of people enjoyed the free stage on the Cornhill.
It was very busy whenever I was there, with people enjoying the Apply to Play winners along with more local artists such as Framlingham-based Ikarus and the food and drink on offer.
Due to it being a free stage, lots of people were able to listen to some of the brightest up-and-coming talent from across the region for nothing, with many people dancing along to the music.
At St Stephen's Church, one of the indoor venues, there was a great atmosphere across both days.
After being renovated into a music venue for last years festival, the church situated opposite Buttermarket shopping centre was busy all weekend with a constant flood of spectators flocking to the 15th century building.
Esme Emerson, a sibling duo from Suffolk, were the first to perform in the venue on the final day of the festival, with the building quickly filling with people.
At The Baths, a venue run by Brighten the Corners, hundreds attended to hear music across the two days.
The size of the venue meant that lots of people were able to appreciate the variety of artists that were playing there.
The Corn Exchange, the largest of the indoor venues, had a great atmosphere - with lots of people dancing along to the music and enjoying the weekend.
The Smokehouse, the smallest of the venues, played host to 10 artists across the weekend, all with a different sound to them but all capable of capturing and entertaining those that had gone there.
It was another successful festival for the Brighten the Corners team who are continuing to rejuvenate the music scene in the town and make Ipswich a desired destination for artists from around the world to come and perform.
