A semi-detached home in Ipswich's Colchester Road is set to become a new house of multiple occupancy (HMO) following a council decision.
The owners of the residential house put in an application to Ipswich Borough Council in May for a certificate of lawful development, which would establish the lawfulness of the change of use from a dwelling house to an HMO of six people.
The house is to the north of Ipswich.
The layout of the ground floor, which features a lounge, study, dining area, kitchen, and toilet, will not change.
The first floor, which has four bedrooms and a bathroom, would only be altered to add en-suites to the bedrooms.

The second floor, which currently has one bedroom and en-suite, would become two bedrooms with en-suites.
Overall, five people would be accommodated. There are no proposals for external alterations.
HMOs are shared homes occupied by between three and six unrelated people who share basic amenities such as a kitchen or bathroom.
The plans were deemed lawful by the council, with the decision notice issued on Monday.
