Two off-licences in the town have been granted alcohol licences to sell alcohol until 11pm on select days, while other applications are yet to be decided.

Penalty at 2 St Margaret's Plain and Sandi Sweets in Lloyds Avenue have both had their alcohol licence granted by the Ipswich Borough Council Licensing & Regulatory Sub-Committee.

This means that Penalty will be able to sell alcohol from 9am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and until 10pm from Sunday to Thursday.

Sandi Sweets can sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm every day.

The Licensing Sub-Committee are to meet on June 12 to discuss further licences that are still in consultation until this date.

These include Bushido restaurant on St Helen's Street, who wish to supply alcohol from 11am to 10.30 every day, Supper Club in Tacket Street who has applied to extend their opening hours until 4am on Friday and Saturday, and until 1.30am on Sunday to Wednesday and 2.30am on Thursday, and Bloom Lounge, also based in Tacket Street, who want to extend their opening hours until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights.
