A new gym in an Ipswich retail park has officially opened its doors to the public.

JD Gyms opened its new branch in Suffolk Retail Park at 10am today, with gym goers able to access the state-of-the-art facility.

The gym chain has opened in the former Argos store in the park, based in London Road, which until now, has been vacant since 2022.

The gym, which measures in at 20,000 sq ft, features some of the industry's best equipment.

Inside the gym, there is one of the area's largest free weight zones, Eleiko functional zone, sled track and a dedicated glute area.

There is also saunas in the changing rooms.

The gym is also open 24/7 for customers, and hundreds of classes are on offer for members.

CEO of JD Gyms, Alun Peacock, said: "Ipswich is a fantastic location for us and we're excited to expand the JD Gyms brand.

"We're incredibly proud to be creating such a high standard of fitness facility for the people of Ipswich."

This is the company's first gym to open in Suffolk.
