A 20-year-old woman who has admitted causing the death of an Ipswich teenager while driving over the alcohol limit will be sentenced in August.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday for a plea hearing was Ellie Lambert, of Kirby Rise, Barham.
She admitted causing the death of 18-year-old Bethany McCauley by careless driving while over the prescribed limit of alcohol.
The crash happened in Thornhill Road in Barham, near Claydon, on April 29 last year.
Miss McCauley, who was of Shotley Close in Pinewood, Ipswich, died at the scene.
Mark Halsey, prosecuting, said that Lambert had 185 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - the legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
He said there was no suggestion that Lambert was using her mobile phone at the time of the crash which occurred when she failed to safely negotiate a left-hand bend in the road.
Lambert will be sentenced on August 19 after pre-sentence report and psychiatric reports have been prepared on her.
Judge Levett allowed Lambert's bail to continue and told her: "The fact reports are being obtained is not to be taken as any indication of the sentence to be passed.
"A judge has to keep all options open. You must appreciate this is a serious matter."
He banned Lambert from driving on an interim basis and said the duration of the disqualification would be decided at the sentencing hearing.
Miss McCauley's family had previously told of their sadness after the death of the teenager.
They said in a statement: "She will be deeply missed by her parents, younger brother William, grandmother, aunts and uncle as well as by her friends, Smudge the cat and of course Stomper."
