An award-winning musical which stunned audiences on Broadway and the West End is coming to Ipswich. 

Come From Away will be at the Ipswich Regent Theatre from Tuesday, July 2, to Saturday, July 6, as part of its first UK and Ireland tour. 

The show shares the real life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community that invested these "come from away" into their lives.

The first female American Airlines captain, the quick-thinking town mayor, and the mother of a New York firefighter are among the many real characters featured in the show.

Come From Away has received great success as a musical winning the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical as well as four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical.

The ensemble cast for the UK and Ireland tour includes Amanda Henderson, who is best known for playing Robyn Miller in BBC's Casualty.
