A homeowner in Ipswich is planning to change the use of his residential garage to a dog grooming salon for a new business.
The application, validated on Monday (May 20), was made by Mr Bullard of Monmouth Close, to turn half the garage into the studio, which his wife will be using for grooming dogs.
Amendments to the garage would include putting up an internal stud wall, laying thick vinyl flooring, insulating the walls, and installing an electric shower and hot water convertor.
A ventilation fan will also be installed to reduce the humidity from bathing and drying dogs.
The hours of business are expected to be 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday and expected to involve one full time employee position.
The 387 sq m garage, currently used for storage, will expect an average of four customers a day when at full capacity.
The owners expect noise from dryers and dogs possibly barking at appointments, which will be reduced for neighbours by fully insulating the space.
