With the bank holiday weekend and good weather coming up many will flock to pubs across the town for a pint - but where is the best place to go?

Here are five of the best pubs in Ipswich according to our readers. 

The Greyhound

Opening hours: 12pm until 11pm (until 8pm on Sunday and 10pm on Monday and Tuesday)

One of the most well known pubs, The Greyhound is only a 10-minute walk from the town centre. 

It serves lunch and evening meals and is also dog friendly. 

2. Dove Street Inn

Opening hours: 2pm until 11pm (From 12pm on Saturday and until 10pm on Sunday)

The Dove Street in is just a short walk from the town centre and Ipswich Waterfront, serving a selection of local beers, malts and wines.

It has previously won awards for pub of the year and best independent pub.

3. The Lattice Barn

Opening hours: 3pm until 11.30pm (12.30am on Friday and Saturday)

The Lattice Barn reopened in Ipswich last year selling a selection of spirits, beers and handcrafted services. 

Food truck Jus' Winging It is open on Friday and Saturday nights, serving award-winning chicken wings to pubgoers.

4. The Plough

Opening hours: 11am until 11pm (until 2am on Saturday)

A traditional pub which can be used for a get together after work or a place to relax for a quiet drinks. 

The Plough offers a variety of events and will be showing the Euros football tournament throughout June and July.

5. The Golden Hind

The Grade II listed 'Tolly Folly' pub shares its name with the ship Sir Francis Drake used when he sailed around the world in the 16th century. 

Food is served daily from midday with live music, Sky and TNT Sports for visitors to watch.
