A man from Berkshire has been sentenced and told to pay compensation for assaulting and Ipswich man.
Salh Frhad, of Kingfisher Court in Slough, appeared in front of Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich in April after being charged with a single count of assault by beating.
The incident took place on November 11 last year, where the 31-year-old had assaulted his victim, a man, while in Suffolk's county town.
Frhad pleaded guilty to the charge with his counsel Mark Holt, according to a court listing.
The magistrates at the court ordered him to pay a compensation fee of £50 along with giving him a 12-month conditional discharge.
A conditional discharge is a type of conviction where a court finds the defendant guilty but does not give a sentence because the offence is minor.
However, if Frhad is found to have broken the conditions of the conditional discharge handed to him by the court he will have to serve a sentence.
Compensation was prioritised due to the defendant's limited means.
