A motorcyclist has suffered potentially life-changing injuries after a serious collision in Ipswich. 

Police were called to Foxhall Road just before 3.45pm on Thursday following reports of a collision involving a grey BMW car and a red Kawasaki motorcycle near Broadlands Road. 

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital before being airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment to injuries that were considered to be potentially life-changing.

A spokeswoman for the police said he remains in a stable condition. 

Officers from Suffolk police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and asking anyone driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
