An Ipswich man was handed a suspended jail term after admitting thefts from Co-op stores in the town.
Ryan Grey, 35, of Hatfield Road in the Suffolk town, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court having been charged with two counts of theft, both committed on September 1 last year.
The first charge related to theft of alcohol worth £6, while the second charge related to the theft of meat worth £20.
Both thefts were from Co-op stores in Ipswich.
Grey admitted both charges.
Magistrates at the Ipswich court handed him a six-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months.
The conditions of the sentence are that for the next 12 months, Grey would be involved in a rehabilitation programme and would have to report to an officer from the court.
He was also told that he would have to complete 50 hours of volunteer work within the next 12 months to satisfy the conditions of his sentence.
In addition, Grey was told to pay £20 in compensation to the Co-op.
