A resident has described hearing "screaming and shouting" following reports of an alleged assault in Ipswich. 

Police were called at 7.52pm on Sunday, April 14, to an address in Little Gipping Street in Ipswich.

Officers attended and it was reported an individual had entered the property and assaulted a man in his 50s, causing bruising to his face.

No arrests have been made said a police spokesman.

A resident of Little Gipping Street said: “These occurrences becoming a frequent thing will have a long-standing impact on myself and those in the surrounding neighbourhood.

“It makes me extremely furious. I felt nervous and anxious.”

He described hearing "shouting and screaming" while he was on the computer and the smashing of glass.

An investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk Constabulary quoting crime reference 37/20618/24.
