Plans have been unveiled for the installation of solar panels at an office in Ipswich town centre.
The proposals, submitted to Ipswich Borough Council, seek permission for the partial demolition of the roof of the disused office on Salthouse Lane, Ipswich.
The plans have been submitted on behalf of Essex-based real estate company Pick Smart Ltd, by Nick Barber Architects Ltd.
They say the building, which is in a heritage conservation area, is in a state of despair.
They say the proposed part demolition of the building and the installation of solar panels would help repair the building and make the office viable for use again.
The architects say reconstruction of the building would include the creation of a new courtyard, large glazed screens and a new reception area.
"The provision of solar panels will also create demonstrable public benefit, by enhancing the use of the existing buildings, as well as creating low carbon, decentralised power," they add.
The council is due to consider the application by June 6.
