Two teenagers jailed for murder and an Ipswich man who was found guilty of rape are among those jailed in Suffolk in March.
Alfie Hammett and Joshua Howell
Alfie Hammett and Joshua Howell were jailed for more than 20 years each after murdering Raymond James Quigley in Ipswich.
Hammett, of Larkhill Rise, Rushmere St Andrew, and Howell, of Wellington Street, Ipswich, were sentenced on March 11 after being found guilty of stabbing Mr Quigley in January 2023.
Ipswich Crown Court previously heard the fatal stabbing was allegedly motivated by a “deep-rooted gang rivalry”.
Mr Quigley had travelled to Ipswich from his home in Wymondham, Norfolk, on January 17 to meet two friends.
He was walking through town with them when they encountered Hammett and Howell in Westgate Street at about 3.35pm.
The court was told that Hammett attacked Mr Quigley while Howell wielded a machete, chasing one of the victim's friends into a nearby JD Sports store.
A Home Office post-mortem examination concluded he suffered four stab wounds to the torso, with two wounds to the chest and abdomen proving to be fatal.
Hammett was jailed for a minimum of 24 years, while Howell received a minimum of 20 years behind bars.
Nicholas Ryan
Nicholas Ryan was jailed for nine years and six months after he was convicted of rape.
Ryan, 33, of Defoe Road, Ipswich, was found guilty of two counts of rape and two counts of attempted rape.
The court heard the offences took place over a one-year period.
Detective Constable Abygail McEvoy, who led the investigation, said: “The victim has shown incredible courage and strength throughout the court process."
Peter Williams Goodchild
Peter Williams Goodchild was sentenced to 14 years behind bars for a string of child sex offences.
Goodchild, 67, of no fixed abode but from the Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty to 12 charges of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 at a previous hearing.
The 67-year-old committed the sexual touching offences, which related to three children, between 2013 and 2019.
He was jailed for 14 years at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for life and a restraining order for at least the next 10 years.
Gladstone Allen
Gladstone Allen was jailed for three years after an attack in Ipswich which left one man with life-changing injuries.
Allen, 32, of Muntjac Gardens, Stowmarket, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court at the start of March.
It follows an assault on two men at the BP garage in Norwich Road in August last year.
Stephen Greaves and Aarn Tomlinson were both knocked unconscious by Allen.
Mr Greaves underwent brain surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and was left with a “life-changing” brain injury.
Chris Doyle
Chris Doyle was sentenced to three years in prison after he tried to incite school girls to engage in sexual activity.
Doyle, 55, of Ladygate, Haverhill, was charged following three offences which took place in 2021.
Two of the offences related to 'decoys', false profiles set up by an online safety group, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Doyle sent a friend request to one of the decoys purporting to be a 14-year-old girl.
Prosecuting counsel Marc Brown told the court that Doyle sent messages relating to underwear and puberty.
Photos and messages of a sexual nature were discovered in a separate chat with a girl following his arrest.
