Residents say they are having "stand offs" in the street amid "absolute chaos" caused by speeding drivers.
Those living in Kitchener Road, just off Norwich Road, say they see daily occurences of speeding as well as drivers arguing with one another, and drivers abusing residents in the street.
They fear someone else could get hurt after a cat died after being hit by a car on Friday, March 15.
Residents say the driver did not stop and they came out to clean up the road.
Margie Gardner, who lives in Kitchener Road, said: "There were people in the streets sobbing their hearts out.
"You get speeding cars down the road constantly, we've had stand offs in the road.
"Cars come from either side, there's no place for them to pull over, and so drivers just shout at each other and some of the language is disgusting.
"Because there's a school on the road as well, it's only a matter of time before a child is hit.
"There's problems with all these streets around here. It's absolute chaos living here."
A Suffolk Highways spokesperson said: "Suffolk County Council is aware of the traffic concerns raised and one of the local county councillors will be discussing the matter with local residents.
"We encourage the local community to raise concerns of speeding vehicles with Suffolk Police."
Ms Garner continued: "Our cars are continuously being damaged by other motorists, with most driving off. Within one month, three cars were damaged.
"We have reported problems, and we need some measure to help control the chaos because it can't go on."
It has been suggested that the street incorporates a one way system to alleviate the stand offs, installing speed cameras to slow drivers down, and also painting a zebra crossing and having a lollipop lady outside the school.
