A new Japanese sushi restaurant is opening for takeaway and delivery only near the town centre today.
Bushido will serve fresh sushi and izakaya and is launching as takeaway-only on Friday (March 15).
While today orders will be able to made on the UberEats and Deliveroo apps, the restaurant itself will be open for eating inside at a later date.
There are also plans to serve alcoholic drinks, including wine, beer, and saki.
The restaurant is in the Grade II listed building at 6 St Helen's Street, opposite the Regent Theatre.
The shop was formerly vacant and before this housed dressmaker store Scissors and Needle.
In October, a planning application was made to Ipswich Borough Council for a change of use and alterations to the 17th century timber-framed building.
Alterations included repainting the windows and shopfront to a matte black, installing wall panelling for a "more hygienic surface finish", installing bench seating, and changing white plaster walls inside into plywood.
The plans were later approved in November.
