A driver from Ipswich has been ordered by magistrates to pay out almost £400 after his car was found to have poor visibility through its front side windows.
Costel Tanasa, of Pauline Street, appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court in Kent in January.
The 28-year-old was charged with using a motor vehicle on a road when there was insufficient travel of light through the vehicle glass.
According to a court listing, Tanasa's Volkswagen was travelling on the Dartford Crossing to the east of London on June 29 last year.
The listing said the front side windows of the car only allowed for 43% visibility, rather than the required minimum of 70%.
The case was dealt with through the single justice procedure, whereby a single magistrate supported by a legal adviser can deal with more minor summary offences that are not heard before a crown court.
Tanasa was told to pay a fine of £220.
He was also instructed to pay a victim surcharge of £88 and costs of £90, meaning he was told to pay out a total of £398.
