A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a crash involving a car and a lorry on the outskirts of Ipswich.
Officers from Suffolk police were called to the crash, on the A14 westbound near to the Copdock Interchange outside of the town, at about 6.30pm on Monday.
The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Volvo HGV.
The driver of the Ford Focus was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, a Suffolk police spokesman said.
According to Suffolk police, he was taken to hospital.
While there, a blood sample was taken for analysis and he was de-arrested.
A spokesman said: "Enquiries continue pending the outcome of the blood test."
