A former scout leader who illegally filmed and photographed children and adults was among those jailed in Suffolk this week.
Ian Butcher
Ian Butcher was jailed for 20 months at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to multiple offences.
The offences, which included one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child and two counts of voyeurism relating to the recording of the private act of an adult, involved eight separate victims.
Butcher, 55 and of Woodbridge Road East in Ipswich, had been in the Scouts for nearly 40 years.
He recorded videos of girls getting changed, the court was told, and of the 11 videos found by police on his phone, six were of children.
Butcher was also given a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
Adam Andrews
Adam Andrews has been sentenced to three years in jail for violently shaking a baby and leaving them paralysed.
Andrews, of Raynsford Road, Great Whelnetham, near Bury St Edmunds, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.
It follows an incident in June 2018, when the victim was only 21 days old.
Judge David Pugh said the child's injuries were caused by "violent shaking".
The mother of the child told the court victim had been left blind and paralysed following the incident.
Daniel Westbrook
Daniel Westbrook has been jailed for two years and eight months following a crash that injured a motorcyclist and left him unable to walk.
Westbrook, 59 and of Monks Eleigh, was driving a red Volkswagen Caddy van in Pond Hall Road, Hadleigh, on August 24, 2022, when he was involved in a crash with a motorcycle.
Statements from witnesses said Westbrook overtook three to four cars and two cyclists while approaching a bend.
A man in his 40s was travelling on a motorcycle in the opposite direction.
On impact with the van, the motorcyclist was thrown into the air and landed on his back.
He lost the feeling in his legs and spent the next 10 months in hospital.
