Repair works are due to begin on a stretch of potholes described as a "disgrace" and concerning by Holywell residents.
For a while, potholes at the top of Bishops Hill, where the road meets Felixstowe Road and Nacton Road have been troubling cyclists and drivers.
The road has had work done on it in the past, but according to an Ipswich resident who drives over the road daily for work, it has been in this condition for over a year.
The resident, who asked not to be named, said: "They're an absolute disgrace.
"It's dangerous and for people with smaller cars like me, you can feel it as you go over them.
"Thankfully, it hasn't damaged my car yet, but only because I slow down as I approach them.
"I do go over them with jeopardy as I don't want them to burst a tyre.
"The entire road needs resurfacing because doing it in patches, as they have done until now, has not done the job."
On the Suffolk Highways Report page, there have been seven reports sent to Highways, all within two weeks of each other.
One of those reports, states: "The road surface is so poor it's disintegrating around the fixes.
"The potholes start where Nacton Road meets Bishop's Hill and they carry on down the hill."
These concerns have been addressed, with many of the concerns being closed by Suffolk Highways on February 12, with the closure reason being listed as Works Already Ordered.
Yellow paint markings have been drawn around the areas that are to be fixed.
The resident continued: "I'm glad they are going to fix it, I just hope they do it properly rather than in patches, otherwise they will reappear and we will have the same problem again."
A spokesperson for Suffolk County Council, said: "Potholes on Bishops Hill are due to be repaired soon.
"We are currently organising traffic management which can be a challenge in this location."
There are also concerns a bit further up Felixstowe Road regarding the condition of the roads, outside of the shopping parade.
Ipswich Borough Councillor for Holywells, George Lankester, stated: "The County Council's neglect for our roads is very evident across Holywells ward, and I know it is of deep concern to many residents, particularly outside a busy shopping area."
