Train travellers were warned of "major disruptions" as the line between Ipswich and London Liverpool Street was blocked earlier today.
Greater Anglia posted on X (formerly Twitter) that, due to a loss of signalling between Manningtree and Ipswich, the route between Norwich and London Liverpool Street had become blocked in both directions.
The disruption was initially reported at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, and was expected to continue until around 7pm.

"All lines will be blocked for essential works to be carried out by Network rail engineers," said Greater Anglia.
"Greater Anglia are working diligently with Network Rail to restore our full timetable as soon as possible."

Services to/from Ipswich & Norwich will be unable to pass through Manningtree until further notice.

Greater Anglia has now shared the news that the issue has been resolved and trains are running as normal.
Those whose journey has been affected by 15 minutes or more can apply for compensation by filling out a form available on the Greater Anglia website.
