An opening date has been set for a new American burger chain in Ipswich, and there isn't long to wait.
Five Guys has confirmed it will open its new Ipswich store, located in Cardinal Park, on Monday, February 19.
The American chain, known internationally for its burgers, hot dogs and milkshakes, caused a stir in Ipswich when, in August 2023, jobs were seen on Indeed for the restaurant.
Councillors welcomed the news of the restaurant, and in October, it was revealed the chain would move into the former Dough & Co in Cardinal Park, next to Subway and Nando's.
Work on the restaurant began in November, with railings going up around the outside of the premises.
Most recently, signs went up around the outside of the building, signalling the chain was closer to opening than the previously predicted spring opening date.
John Eckbert, CEO of Five Guys UK, said: "We're thrilled to be opening our thirteenth restaurant in the East of England and bringing our famous burgers to Ipswich.
"We pride ourselves on using only the freshest ingredients and offering a wide range of customisation options to suit every taste.
"We can't wait to welcome Ipswich residents and visitors to our new restaurant in February."
Five Guys, established in 1986, will offer customers in Ipswich with the new Pistachio Milkshake, and people will be able to use the new Group Order Feature which can be found on the Five Guys app.
This restaurant will join Inflata Nation, Subway, Nando's, ASK Italian, Cineworld, McDonald's and The Gym Group in the entertainment park.
A new Turkish restaurant, Kervan Kitchen, is also set to open in the former Punch & Judy, with work underway.
