An empty bath shop in Ipswich may be turned into a new restaurant and coffee bar with live music performances.
An application has been made to Ipswich Borough Council for the site, at 48-52 Norwich Road, for a premises licence.
The venue, to be known as Vilson Restaurant and Coffee Bar, intends to sell alcohol to customers, offer late night refreshments, and occasionally host performances of live music.
The store has been empty since closing at the end of November 2021.
Its closure was previously announced in 2019, after the national retailer went into administration, but the Ipswich store was then acquired by Homebase along with more than 40 other Bathstore branches.
However, the national chain later decided to close the shop.
Representations can be made to the council in writing to the attention of Licensing and Systems Officer, Licensing Team, Ipswich Borough Council, to: Licensing Team Ipswich Borough Council, Grafton House, 15-17 Russell Road, Ipswich IP1 2DE or by email to licensing@ipswich.gov.uk
