Tonnes of sugar beet has been dumped alongside a road to the north of Ipswich.
In a post on social media on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk Highways said it is aware of a large amount of sugar beet along Old Norwich Road, between the town and Claydon.
The authority has claimed the sugar beet has been fly-tipped.
A spokeswoman for the authority said: "We were unaware that the produce would be left at the location.
"The road is a live bus route and where the produce has been left is part of the cycleway and should not be used as a holding bay for produce.
"The relevant district has been contacted but it is hoped that the owner will collect and remove as soon as possible."
Suffolk Highways also contacted the waste enforcement team.
