A train named after the town's football club was unveiled at a ceremony at Ipswich train station attended by club figures and GB Railfreight.
Gathering to see the newly christened Ipswich Town freight train were many train enthusiasts and high-profile figures including former Town manager George Burley, CEO Mark Ashton and Chairman Mike O'Leary, MSC UK Ipswich managing director, Daniel Everitt and GB Railfreight CEO John Smith.
The train is one of only six others in the country to be named after a football team.
Town's CEO Mark Ashton said: "It's just another example of the club working closer with its local community.
"It's a real honour because it is something that will be here as a legacy for the football club moving forward, so we are really honoured, and I think it's something the fans will be really proud of.
"When we came to the club, we said we wanted to make sure the club sat at the heart of the local community.
"A healthy football club, a vibrant and thriving football club will help to see a healthy and vibrant town.
"We play an important part in the town, and community is a key part of what we're trying to build and integrate moving forward so today is a symbol of that."
GB Railfreight CEO John Smith, added: "We do a lot of work out of Felixstowe so it's a good way to recognise the football club, especially with all the success at the moment.
"MSC UK, a main customer, they've been heavily involved with sponsoring Ipswich so it just made sense to have an event, name a locomotive, and reintroduce a tradition.
"This is a very special train because of the amount and quality of the work that we do in the area."
