Two people were trapped in a car submerged in flood water in a road near Ipswich amid Storm Pia.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a car stuck in flood water in The Strand, which runs underneath the Orwell Bridge, at about 7.15pm on Thursday after the River Orwell burst its banks.
Suffolk police and the ambulance service were also on scene to assist.
The Strand, which leads onto Wherstead Road in the south of Ipswich, was flooded.
A car, with two people inside, became trapped in the water, with the passengers unable to escape.
Four fire and rescue crews went to the scene and the two occupants were helped from the vehicle and taken to safety by 8.15pm.
A road closure was put in place but has now been removed.
The ambulance service has been contacted for further details.
