On Monday a number of police vehicles remain at the scene as well as forensics.
An eyewitness said a large cordon remains in place and about six police cars are parked nearby.
Officers arrested two men and a female on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.
On Sunday police were granted a further 21 hours to question the suspects after a warrant of further detention was granted by Suffolk Magistrates' Court.
This is due to expire on Monday evening.
A post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death and formal identification procedures will take place in due course.
Detective Chief Superintendent Jane Topping, of Suffolk police, said: “This is a very sad and distressing incident and, at this time, our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death is in its early stages.
“I would urge people not to speculate on social media as to the circumstances of this tragic event.”
People living near to Wilbury House spoke about their shock and sadness after police launched the murder probe.
A neighbour, 70, said he was lost for words upon hearing a baby had been found dead.
He added: "What can you say? This is devastating.
"Whatever can you say? I’ve been born and bred in this town. I’ve never heard of anything like this."
