Part of the A14 was closed after emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash.
Police were alerted to the incident in the eastbound carriageway near Copdock at about 12.55pm on Sunday.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said a full closure was put in place on the eastbound carriageway while recovery for the vehicles took place.
No serious injuries were reported.
According to the AA Traffic Map there were long delays in the area.
