After a man was rearrested in connection with the death of Victoria Hall, here are all the key events in one of Suffolk's biggest unsolved murders.
The 17-year-old was last seen near to the junction of Faulkeners Way in Trimley St Mary's High Road in the early hours of September 19, 1999, having walked home from a night out in Felixstowe.
On Friday, September 24, her naked body was found in a ditch in Creeting Lane in Creeting St Peter, prompting Suffolk police to launch a murder inquiry.
Detectives reopened the case - known as Operation Avon - in 2019, after receiving fresh information. Unreleased CCTV footage was made public for the first time.
In July 2021, a man, reported to be Suffolk Strangler Steve Wright, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Suffolk police confirmed on Thursday that a man was rearrested as part of the investigation.
He has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
Wright is currently serving a whole life sentence for the murder of five women in Ipswich in 2006.
