There were long delays on the A14 and Orwell Bridge near Ipswich after two HGVs broke down.
The broken down lorry's were causing traffic chaos in two separate incidents on the A14 this morning.
Police were called to the scene of the incident in the westbound carriageway near the Copdock Interchange at about 7.30am on Monday.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the HGV was in the hard shoulder and gravel was across the carriageway.
Officers were also been called to a broken down lorry in the eastbound slip near the Nacton turn-off.
According to the AA Traffic Map there were long delays in the area.
