An armed robbery in the Gainsborough area of Ipswich on Sunday morning saw staff at a clubhouse threatened with a knife.

Suffolk Police is appealing for information after an incident at approximately 10.55am on December 3 at the Conservative Club in Clapgate Lane.

A man entered the premises and threatened staff with a knife, before making off with a large quantity of cash.

The suspect was dressed all in black and was wearing a face covering.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses to the incident.

They are asking anyone who was driving in the area of Clapgate Lane, Landseer Road and Nacton Road around the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
