Five teenagers will be sentenced after being found guilty of a range of offences following a violent incident in Ipswich.

A group of males aged 17 and 18 were seen fighting at around 7pm on Thursday, June 22, of this year, in the Old Cattle Market, near the town centre.

Reports emerged that some of the individuals were carrying sticks and bats.

Appearing at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday, November 15, the defence of the teenagers said their “immaturity took over” leading them to take part in the violent incident and asked to "give them a chance".

Two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be named because of their age, were charged with offences including violent disorder, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of a class B drug.

Claudio Da Costa, 18, of Primrose Hill, Ipswich, and Daniel Guedes, 18, of Broomwade Close, Ipswich, were both charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Laurynas Talacka, also 18, of Chevalier Street, Ipswich, was additionally charged with a breach of a criminal behaviour order.

The sentencing has been adjourned until tomorrow.
