An Ipswich businesswoman is following her dream of launching a mobile cake van - with customers still able to get the same products for a "fraction of the price."
Rachel Halls has run BMC Cakery in Ipswich for the last seven years, serving customers a delicious range of baked goods.
During that time, she purchased an old ice cream van in the hope of converting it and taking it out on the road.
She said: "We are really excited but it has been a long time planning.
"We purchased our mobile van nearly two years ago.
"We have such a vast clientele all around Suffolk. Being in one location, we can't really reach those people."
Launching the van has come at a time of change in circumstances in both her business and personal life.
Rising costs has meant adapting her bakery, including shutting her Clapgate Lane site, while she is also due to give birth in the coming weeks.
However, the mobile business will not change what her customers are able to receive.
"We are still able to produce the same quality and standard just at a lower cost and more flexibility," added Rachel.
"We will be able to reduce our prices. They are still going to get the same high quality but for a fraction of the price.
"This was all kind of heading in that direction."
After navigating the issues caused by converting the van, which local businesses Funkee Fish and Belstead Carpentry helped fit, Rachel already has a number of markets lined up across Suffolk.
While their Clapgate Lane premises will be shutting, she added they will "not be closed for long."
The grand reveal of the new van will take place in the coming months.
