In the countdown to Christmas everyone is searching for the perfect presents to get for family and friends. 

Sometimes the best place to find a gift can be a Christmas market, with numerous stalls to browse and a festive atmosphere to enjoy. 

Here are some of the best Christmas markets to visit in Suffolk this year. 

1.Christmas Fayre and Light Up Day

When: Saturday, December 2

Christmas-themed crafts will be available to buy at this Christmas market on the Suffolk coast. 

Various stalls will line Hamilton Road and there will also be live music and a choir performing. 

In the evening, the Christmas lights for Felixstowe will be switched on to brighten up the town.

2. Two Day Christmas Market

When: Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26

Taking place in one of the best-preserved medieval villages, this Christmas market has 40 stalls to explore. 

One day of the fair will run alongside the farmers' market for Christmas food shopping.

3. Victorian Christmas Fayre

When: Friday, December 1

This evening event goes back in time to host a Christmas fayre between 4pm and 8pm. 

Marvel at street performers, indulge in delicious food and shop from an array of local businesses and crafters. 

Shops on the High Street in Saxmundham will also be open late for Christmas shopping. 

4. Bury Christmas Market

When: Thursday, November 23 to Saturday, November 25

More 50 stall holders from Suffolk will be at this market in the Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds to showcase their products. 

Browse for gifts in a historic setting and enjoy some of the daily entertainment. 

It will be open from 10am and 4.30pm each day.

5. Suffolk County Christmas Fair

When: Friday, November 24 to Sunday, November 26

This is being marketed as the "ultimate Christmas shopping experience" in Suffolk with more than 120 stalls featuring unique gifts and artisan food. 

Stalls will be located within heated shopping marquees throughout the grounds of Hintlesham Hall.

Entry to the event is £7 for adults and £3 for children.

6. Christmas Craft Market

When: Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26

Start Christmas early and find special crafted gifts at the Annual Christmas Craft Market at Stonham Barns.

Shop for locally produced gifts you can't find on the high street, with free entry and plenty of parking.

Santa's Grotto will also be open for an additional cost for children wanting to meet the Snow Queen, the Elves, and even Santa.

7. Christmas Fair

Where: Baylham House Rare Breeds Farm, Baylham, IP6 8LG

When: Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3

The Christmas fair returns to the farm for the second year in a row. 

Meet Father Christmas and browse the local stallholders selling Christmas gifts. 

You can also meet the animals including pigs, goats, Shetlands and bunnies.
